Geography Intent

At Lymington CE (Aided) Infant School we strive to ensure pupils have a high-quality geography education, which fosters children’s love and curiosity about the world around them involving current topical issues.

Geography should inspire pupils, leading to a fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

At our school we aim to develop an awareness that the world extends beyond the pupils’ own environment through learning about; diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments. The children will progressively develop transferrable skills through discussion and investigation. We actively respond to the ever-changing environment exploring current affairs and the courage shown in the face of adversity.

We hope that the implementation of our intent will also impact the children morally, socially and culturally and will encourage respect for our world.
