Children as Leaders
We aim to give the children as many leadership opportunities as possible during their time at school. leadership opportunities enable children to develop responsibility, solve problems creatively, work in a team and work collaboratively with others. All children get these opportunities within their class, however we do have additional roles such as the Eco team, School Council, Worship monitors, Health and Safety team, Playground Leaders and Class Ambassadors.
Class Ambassadors
Every 3 weeks the class teacher will choose a child to be the class ambassador. The child chosen will be good role model for the school and will be chosen because they are someone who consistently tries particularly hard to uphold our core values. Ambassadors will be chosen on a Monday and will be given a purple jumper for the following three weeks. Our ambassadors role will come with responsibilities in and around school so be sure to ask them all about it!Worship Leaders
Our worship monitors are responsible for supporting our worship time. Their role involves setting up the hall and clearing away for both whole school and class worship. They will often lead the Trinity prayer, share prayers on the worship table and introduce a related activity. Worship monitors hold an important responsibility in planning and leading aspects of a class worship aswell as monitoring and giving feedback to the headteacher and SLT on whole class worships.
Playground Leaders
We are extremely lucky to have some super playground leaders. At lunch time, their role is to initiate games with the other children. Together with our lunchtime supervisors, they help make playtimes fun by organising games and activities. They receive training and are taught skills such as fair play, how to organise groups and how to communicate well. Our Playground leaders also keep a close eye out for any children who may be feeling a little sad and help them look for friends!
Health and Safety Team
Our health and Safety Team work alongside Mr Howell, our Site Manager. They carry out regular checks to ensure everything is safe and then always feed back their findings. The team check the playground equipment, entrances and exits, the school grounds and the site security. Just like Mr Howell, they take their important role very seriously!
