Lymington CE Infant School

Our School Dog

This is Roly, the Cocker Spaniel, he is our school dog. He joined Lymington Infant School in January 2022 as a playful puppy. Roly is Mrs Angel's dog, our Deputy Headteacher, and you will find them both outside on a  Friday morning greeting our families. He often pops out on a Thursday morning too with Miss Morris, our Headteacher. During the day Roly spends time at the office end of the school but enjoys going for walks to see the children learning in their classrooms and often has children spend time with him in the Headteacher's garden.

Training

Roly on 'Meet and Greet'

Roly has been working hard and passed ‘The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme – Puppy Foundation Assessment’. He is still in training and needs to pass various different exercises such as control at gate/door, controlled walk amongst people and other dogs and return to handler. Please help us with Roly's training.

We should stress that being involved with Roly is entirely optional and no child will be expected to work with the dog unless they wish to.
