Thank you very much to our parents and carers for completing the annual questionnaire and for your comments and responses about our school. Overall, we were delighted with the very positive response we received, with an amazing 100% of parents saying they would recommend our school to others! Please do read the summary of the results and our the actions we have identified arising from the survey.
Response to Parent Survey 2025
Thank you very much to our parents and carers for completing the annual questionnaire and for your comments and responses about our school.
The results of our parent’s survey are always discussed at our governors’ meetings and with staff so that we can make our school an even better place for children and families. Parents’ suggestions are gratefully received and will be considered as we set our school development priorities for the future. Overall, we were delighted with the very positive response we received from parents, with an amazing 100% of parents saying that they would recommend our school to others. We felt your comments reflected our schools vision and purpose, the nurturing environment, plus the commitment and care of the whole staff.
There were two areas arising from the survey we have identified for response and improvement;
Informing parents of the learning before a topic. The second area is the range of after school clubs.
Informing parents of the learning before a topic.
Parents were generally very appreciative of the knowledge organisers at the end of each topic which suggest ways to consolidate the learning. This has, however replaced the more traditional topic overviews which we used to provide at the beginning of each half term. We understand that an overview beforehand of the whole topic is helpful, for parents to be both informed and to support or generate interest in the learning so we will aim to reintroduce this next term.
There are a range of clubs and activities at this school
A few parents mentioned that their children did not secure places on after school clubs due to an increase in demand. We know how important it is for all children to have the chance to pursue their interest and talents and we will look carefully at the clubs we offer for next year. We would love to try and increase the range and availability on offer but it is always a difficult decision between finance, numbers and staffing. Hopefully we can increase the spaces available where possible.
We have made a number of changes to our wraparound care, following a survey of parents who use this service.
We have now renamed this in response to parent requests. Before school care is called Sunrise and after school care Sunset.
We have also increased the number of places available.
Booking is now open until 2.30pm on the same day.
We are very proud that we are able to offer our Infant aged children a nurturing wraparound care setting within their own school grounds and with staff who know them well. Because we are an Infant school and also take children in EYFS in our wraparound care, this does mean we must adhere to certain government set staff ratios. We must always have two staff on duty right up until the end of the session and this is why we are unable to offer the shorter sessions for half price, as some school can. We do however try very hard to ensure our price per session stays low.
Overall, the feedback that you have provided to us was overwhelmingly positive with many, many comments about the strong community ethos of the school. The positive comments and praise for our dedicated and hardworking staff team were also much appreciated. We have, of course, shared your comments with the whole team. Thank you, once again, for your valuable feedback on our Parent Survey.
Children's Survey May 2025
We really value the views of our children and carry out an annual survey. The children complete this survey with their class teacher who records the responses and asks for further clarification where appropriate. The slides below highlights the strengths, areas for development and any actions we are to take.
